Retail Assistant Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Retail Assistant Manager position is charged with helping lead our retail team to success in all areas of business management including sales, merchandising, customer service, marketing, and operations. This position will catalyze the conceptualization of sales targets and be instrumental in achieving measurable results that enhance both our productivity and profitability. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with the management team, retail staff, and other departments to help ensure consistency of information across all channels.
- Relay important information, updates, and changes to the team and promote team engagement by inviting feedback.
- Staff Management:
- Assist in training new employees on company policies, product knowledge, and service techniques.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance the skills of the retail team.
- Aid in conducting routine performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing inventory ensuring stock is received and stored in line with company policies and state regulations.
- Conduct regular stock checks and coordinate with the purchasing manager on restocking.
- Cash Handling:
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including opening and closing registers.
- Conduct cash audits to maintain accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and ready for business.
- Help implement and enforce store policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with store managers to identify and implement operational improvements.
- Customer Service:
- Promote a high standard of customer service through exemplary leadership at all times.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
- Sales Generation:
- Work with the Sales & Marketing Manager to set and achieve progressive sales objectives.
- Implement and assess sales strategies and promotional activities designed to drive revenue.
- Visual Merchandising:
- Assist in coordinating and performing live in-store demos featuring our suite of brands.
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Manager to create visually appealing merchandise displays.
- Ensure that the store layout and product presentation meet company standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in retail sales, management, or a similar role.
- Results-driven mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation to our Redwood City offices.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

- Deep knowledge of cannabis products and industry trends.
- Previous industry experience and/or familiarity with state compliance platforms.

Job Location: Redwood City, CA
Reports to: Retail General Manager
Compensation: 65-75K annually (DOE); plus benefits (health, dental, vision & flexible spend)
